School Year Wrap-Ups

Another school year done! Hard to believe Rebecca is done with elementary school. Ethan finished up 5th grade and Kendall completed 1st grade. I confess...I broke out the happy dance on the last day of school!! It was a very trying year...specifically with a certain 11yr old boy...but we made it through and are so thankful for summer break...woo hoo!!

Activities, Award Ceremonies, and Sports

Kendall on surf machine at their school carnival.

Kendall bridging in Girl Scouts from Daisy to Brownie.

Rebecca explaining her group's bronze award project.

Rebecca, and her leader Debbie, getting her Bronze Award
which is the first step to earning highest Girl Scout Award "Gold"
- the equivalent of Boy Scout's Eagle award. Debbie calls
her "Nancy Drew" ever since her 10th birthday themed party.

Rebecca qualified for Area Track finals this year. She's the 4th runner in photo.
Kendall ready to play some T-Ball. She almost always got
a hit though from the pitch. Quite the little player especially since
it was her first year playing.

Ethan at bat. He did really well this season.

It's a base hit!

Kendall and cousin Ben played on the same team. Here they
are being silly after the last game & chillin in Dad's truck.
Our little goofball Amanda getting in the dress up box. The
Abe Lincoln hat covered her head and she would walk around
with it bumping into things and laughing.

Amanda - Giving her best innocent face.

Ethan's end of year band recital. He's playing trumpet (technically the cornet) and
is the one in the middle. Couldn't really get close enough to stage for a good close up.

Rebecca's final choir performance. Her trio sang "America the Beautiful". She's the
one on far left.

Rebecca earned lots of academic awards including
Principal's Honor Roll and Block C.
Violet brought this precious photo to Ethan's first piano recital last weekend. It was another reminder of how much he has always loved music.

Then & Now

I always like to look back at the picture from the first day to the last day to see how much the kids have changed in 9 months. I distinctly remember thinking how grown up they looked that first day back in Aug 2013 but comparing photos now they looked like babies! :(

Then - 1st day
Now - Not quite the last day of school but a few weeks
before for end of year Open House.
