Kendall's 7th Birthday Party - Frozen theme

Ever since she saw the Disney movie Frozen, Kendall has been singing and reciting lines verbatim every day...all day. So, of course, for her 7th birthday she needed...not wanted...a Frozen party. It was actually very fun planning it and fairly easy. My sister in law Dawn helped out deciding on how to make the invites and planning decorations and of course Pinterest was very helpful. My friend Cari makes yummy and beautiful cakes so I enlisted her help this time to make one instead of trying to do it myself and ending up disappointed. She did a fabulous job and even found the figurine set by chance one day when I had tried every store in town and had given up on the idea of using them on the cake.

Kendall had a wonderful time with her friends - this was her first school friend party. The others were family only. It brought me great joy when one of her little friends said towards the end of the party "this is the best birthday party ever". Too cute! I'm just glad simple home parties can still bring smiles and be fun for kids.

Got rolls of this cool blue and white ribbon at Michaels to use for decorating. Then I just used my supply of scrapbook paper to make the sign and icicles.

The glass marbles are available at Michaels but I also found them at Dollar Tree which was cheaper.

Snacks were all that was required since it started at 2 and was only scheduled for 1 1/2 hrs.

Small water bottles with bottle wraps made and printed at home and cut out and taped on by Kendall.

The party favors for guests were smores kits with a line from the movie printed on Avery
labels. Kendall cut these out and we stuck them on little bags from Michael's and tied with some blue
ribbon.

Games

I had the girls make snowflakes as the first activity.

 

I really need to get better photographs...Blurry photo of Kendall with her snowflake. They all did a great job!

All the snowflakes hung from the bay window. The girls took these home with them too.



Snowball fight - Made snowballs out of white sheet material cut in circles, stitched around top for gathering and stuffed with Polyfill). I used stuffing on table for snow too and was going to have the girls build a snowman but ran out of time for that activity. They had the best time with the snowball fight. Two teams of 4 with a bucket of snowballs for each.

Lots of fun throwing snowballs at each other!

Toss the Snowball in the basket game. Each girl got 3 snowballs to try and make a basket. The one with the most baskets won.



Good old fashion game of Freeze Tag.

 

Race - Two people at a time race to see who can get the most marshmallows into their cup in 1 minute using chopsticks.
